The “Impérios” from Terceira Island
“Impérios” are traditional Azorean chapels comprised by a single compartment. The façades include a triangular front containing one of the Holy Spirit symbols – the White Dove or the Holy Crown – painted with bright colors. The Império of Charity, Império of Terra-Chã e and Império of St. John Baptist are some of the most famous examples of this traditional architecture. We offer a wide collection of these creative representations in polychrome ceramic, exclusively designed by Luis Leonardo.
