Lovers Handkerchiefs
The "Lovers Handkerchiefs" or "Wishing Handkerchiefs" are traditional handmade pieces from the North of Portugal, particularly from the Minho region. They have their origins in the 17th and 18th century. Normally created and used by young women, these embroidered handkerchiefs filled with romantic verses are designed with colors and symbols that represent dedication, friendship and love.

The “Impérios” from Terceira Island
“Impérios” are traditional Azorean chapels comprised by a single compartment. The façades include a triangular front containing one of the Holy Spirit symbols – the White Dove or the Holy Crown – painted with bright colors. The Império of Charity, Império of Terra-Chã e and Império of St. John Baptist are some of the most famous examples of this traditional architecture. We offer a wide collection of these creative representations in polychrome ceramic, exclusively designed by Luis Leonardo.

St. Gabriel Archangel
Sanctuary of Our Lady of Cola
The ceramic work by artist Luis Leonardo represents the façade of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Cola in Ourique. Built over an ancient hermitage, the Sanctuary is around 300 years old and is a place of congregation for devote pilgrims coming from other regions like Alentejo and Algarve every year for celebrations on September 7-8.
ARCIL - Ceramics

The Association for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Citizens of Lousã (ARCIL) is a place for production of decorative ceramic objects, serving at the same time as a learning, occupation and employment center for people with difficulties in integrating in the society. The works are all handmade and each piece is unique with different colors and tonality.
Marafonas
Genuine pieces of the traditional culture of Monsanto, a historic village located in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, the “marafonas” are dolls dressed with regional clothing. Handmade from a wooden cross without eyes, nose or mouth, the tradition was for these dolls to be laid on the wedding couple’s bed during the wedding night, for good luck. They symbolize Maia, the Goddess of Fecundity.
